Sora e-Books and Audiobooks
What is Sora?
Sora is managed by the company "Overdrive" and is available for FREE to all Cobb County School District students. Sora is a reading app that provides students with access to newly published and classic books in several different genres (historical fiction, realistic fiction, science fiction, fantasy fiction, sports fiction, biographies, non-fiction), and graphic novels in e-Book and audiobook format. Students are able to access e-Books and audiobooks through one of the following pathways:

3. Sora Reading App in Google or Apple Store

Benefits to Sora
1. Students can access reading material (e-books/audiobooks) on any device at school through their individual student account.
2. Students can access Sora on a personal device using this link: https://soraapp.com or by downloading the Sora app.
3. Sora can be accessed anywhere on a personal device with personal Internet access or data service.
4. Sora e-Books and audiobooks are automatically returned on the due date. No overdue notices or late fees.
5. Sora e-Books and audiobooks can be accessed using the classroom Recordex large panel screen for all students to read and listen.
6. Sora can be accessed on Cobb iPads using the https://soraapp.com/welcome or Sora screen icon.
7. Teachers may assign reading and vocabulary.
8. Dyslexic font is available for all e-books.

Each Cobb student has their own individual school account. The account includes the following features:

Teachers feel free to schedule a time for students to visit the school library and learn about each of these features so students are able to get the most benefits from the use of Sora. It's a good idea for students to know their Cobb email address, Student Number, and Computer password ahead of time.

How are Sora Books Purchased?
Sora e-books and audiobooks are purchased by Cobb County Library Services and individual schools. Students have access to all Cobb County Library purchased e-books and audiobooks. However, books purchased by individual school libraries are only available to students at that respective school. Requests or recommendations may be made to your local school library.
Sora Digital Magazines are Now Available!
The following Sora magazines are available to all Cobb students for FREE and can be used simultaneously! If you love Scholastic magazines, imagine the engagement in class reading articles from any of these amazing and interesting magazines in Sora! Schedule a time to bring your students to the library to read an article and complete an activity that aligns with your content curriculum!
